Ulster County Family Offenses Lawyer

There are certain offenses related to family law that are not always resolved in the court system. These types of family offenses can stay within the family court system. The standard of proof is lower than that in courts (beyond a reasonable doubt ¾ the highest possible standard of proof) and is proving guilt by a preponderance of the evidence.

These offenses include:

  • Stalking
  • Assault
  • Harassment
  • Restraining orders
  • Orders for protection

Family offenses typically occur as a result of a domestic dispute. Parents are in a physical or verbal altercation, a parent is in dispute with a child or an ex-girlfriend or boyfriend is stalking/harassing the petitioner. If you require representation for a family offense, I have a unique background in family law that is well suited for these types of cases. With nearly 10 years of experience, I will advocate for your best interests and help make sure you or your child is protected.

If you are being stalked, harassed or require an order for protection, the law offices of Jason M. Lesko, Esq., can help you. As a skilled New York attorney, I provide representation for family offense. Contact me by e-mail for an immediate consultation.

Orders of Protection

A common action brought in family court is an order for protection. The individual requesting the protection petitions the court for an order.  Only in special circumstances can an order for protection be brought for five years. I also help when an order has been violated and provide enforcements for orders.
